2026/2027 Tryouts

Our competitive soccer seasons are split into two parts each year. The fall season typically runs from late August through early November, while the spring season runs from late February through May. Exact start and end dates can vary slightly each year depending on league schedules and tournament selections.

Travel soccer teams typically compete against clubs from across the region and throughout Louisiana. This allows players to experience different playing styles and levels of competition.

Travel distances vary by age group and league, but games and tournaments are usually within a reasonable driving distance for families.

Most travel soccer teams train multiple times per week. Regular training helps players build technical skills, improve decision making, and develop strong team chemistry. Consistency is one of the biggest factors in player development.

At VSC, we practice at least two times per week. Some teams may train three times per week depending on the season, level, and team goals.

Every player develops at their own pace. Many players begin considering travel soccer when they:

• Show a strong passion for the game
• Want to practice and improve more often
• Enjoy competition and challenges
• Are eager to learn new skills

For some players this transition happens around ages 8 to 10, but the right time is different for every child.
